The M³ Lab (Materials, Mechanics, and Manufacturing) at the University of New Mexico is dedicated to advancing the frontiers of materials science and manufacturing research. Our mission is to accelerate the development of next-generation materials and manufacturing technologies, tackling challenges across academia and industry.

Our lab specializes in additive manufacturing, alloy and microstructure design, powder metallurgy, and materials characterization. We focus on understanding and optimizing the mechanical behavior of materials—including fatigue, creep, and fracture—while leveraging computational modeling and machine learning to predict and enhance performance.
